3 Day Fraser Island (K’gari) 4WD Tag-Along Adventure $549
3 Day Fraser Island (K’gari) 4WD Tag-Along Adventure Itinerary
Following a tour briefing and a lesson on how to drive a 4WD on the sandy tracks of K’gari (Fraser Island), we’re off on our adventure. So buckle in for 3 days filled with activities and incredible sights!
After a quick ferry crossing to the island, we begin our trip with a drive along K’gari’s famous 75 Mile Beach. Our first stop is Eurong Beach Resort, where you can grab a coffee and a delicious pastry at your own expense for morning tea. From here, the adventure really begins, as we journey to the incredible Lake McKenzie. There is a reason this spot is one of the most popular with travellers, as the water in the lake is the clearest blue you’ll ever see. You’ll get to spend the day exploring the area, going for swims, and tucking into a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll drive on to our campsite, where you can settle in for an early dinner and plenty of well-deserved fun!
Day 2 will start with breakfast before we set off on a day of exploring the island. Our first stop is Eli Creek, where you’ll be able to relax in the serene waters of the creek that pumps around 4 million litres of crystal-clear freshwater into the ocean each hour.
Next up is the Maheno Shipwreck, one of the most iconic sights of K’gari, which washed onto land in 1935 after a sudden cyclone. Afterwards, we’ll head to Indian Head, the highest point of the island, for some whale and shark spotting (if we’re lucky). This is followed by a dip at the magnificent Champagne Pools. Lunch will be served at either Maheno Shipwreck or Champagne Pools, depending on time constraints and tide times. In the afternoon, travel back to camp for dinner and drinks.
Day 3 will start with breakfast and disassembling our campsite before we journey to Lake Wabby for a walk amongst the sand dunes. Lake Wabby is something special! This lake offers beautiful emerald-green water. Jump in and relax in the lake, or walk around while you wait for lunch. After lunch, it is time to head back to the ferry and make our way back to the mainland. Here, we’ll unpack and clean the cars before saying goodbye.
