1 Day Fraser Island (K’gari) Tour Departing Rainbow Beach Itinerary
After you had your briefing and met your guide, we make our way to the ferry terminal to leave the mainland behind and head out to the island. We cross the island and 75 Mile Beach to make our way to our first stop which is Lake McKenzie. One of the island’s most famous beaches. Perfect for a swim and to take Instagram-worthy photos.
We’ll take a leisurely walk along the boardwalk at Central Station to enjoy incredible views of tall ancient trees. Grasp the view of the giant King Fern! Fraser Island is also home to Satinay (hardwood) trees which you can admire during a stroll through Pile Valley.
We’ll be heading inland and visiting the famous Eli Creek, the largest freshwater creek in the eastern part of the island. Enjoy a walk along the boardwalk or float down the oh-so-clear water of the creek.
During a cyclone in 1935, a ship washed ashore and has ever since been stuck in the sand of K’gari. The Maheno Shipwreck is a must-see today, especially when the sea is having fun, and the waves crash against the wreck.
With all those different kinds of red, orange, and yellow, you’ll be in awe of the coloured sand formation of the Pinnacles. Later in the day, we’ll return to the ferry terminal and take the ferry back to Rainbow Beach.
If you’re in Hervey Bay, you can do this tour also from here.
