2 Day Fraser Island (K’gari) Tour Departing Rainbow Beach $699
2 Day Fraser Island (K’gari) Tour Departing Rainbow Beach Itinerary
We head out of Rainbow Beach nice and early to get to our first stop, the ferry terminal. To get to K’gari (Fraser Island), we first need to take the ferry. After approximately 15 minutes we’ll board our 4WD bus again and start our 2 day tour. So sit back and relax! Our next 2 days are filled with activities and incredible sights.
One of the prettiest beaches on Fraser Island is Lake McKenzie and a haven for anyone looking for paradise. Enjoy a swim and appreciate the beauty of the lake. We’ll then stretch our legs at Central Station where you’ll be able to walk along Wanggoolba Creek Boardwalk to take in the towering trees of the rainforest.
Relax in the serene waters of the windy Eli Creek that pumps around 4 million litres of water each hour into the ocean.
The Maheno Shipwreck, one of the most iconic sights of K’gari (Fraser Island), washed onto land in 1935 after a sudden cyclone and has been stuck in the sand ever since, creating astonishing views.
Learn about the Indigenous Dreamtime stories that surround these brilliant, cliff-like sand formations. Experience the magnificent 72 colours of unique red, orange, and yellow sand up close.
If you’re looking for a fantastic aerial view of the coast and surroundings, Indian Head is the place to be. After a short walk, you’ll arrive at the top of the rock where you’ll be in awe of the beautiful vistas. Keep your eyes peeled for turtles and rays, they’ll be swimming around the rock below you.
Located near 75 Mile Beach, Fraser Islands highway, are the Champagne Pools. These magnificent ocean-level pools, which were hollowed out of massive chunks of volcanic rock, are ideal around mid-tide, when breaking waves produce a natural, bubbly spa. Make your way along the boardwalk and enjoy a delightful dip in one of the pools.
Lake Wabby is something special! This lake is hiding between huge dunes and offers emerald green water. Jump in the lovely water and relax your legs for a bit because you’ll have to hike to get here (you can reach the lake after 4km). Please note, this activity requires a moderate fitness level and is optional.
