2 Day Fraser Island Tour Itinerary
Discover everything Fraser Island has to offer on this two-day adventure that takes in beautiful lakes, impressive sand dunes, and ancient rainforest scenery. While on the world’s largest sand island, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the local wildlife and learn all about the natural history of this fascinating place.
Day One (Lunch and Dinner)
Once we leave Brisbane, Noosa, or the Sunshine Coast, we’ll hop into a 4WD and travel past the Glass House Mountain to Double Island Point. Here, you can witness the breath-taking colours of Rainbow Beach before tucking into a picnic lunch.
You’ll have some free time to relax on the beach after lunch or explore the selection of local shops before we grab the ferry to Fraser Island. During the journey, look out for dolphins, dugongs, sharks, and turtles that bask in the waters surrounding the island.
When we arrive on Fraser Island, we’ll start by taking you on another exciting 4WD adventures along the famous 75 Mile Beach. In the afternoon, it’s time to head to the National Park Cabins that are perched right next to Govi Creek estuary. For the next few hours, you can sit on the beach, try your hand at surfing, or visit the impressive sand dunes of Lake Wabby.
Day Two (Breakfast)
After a morning to yourself where you can enjoy the sunrise, go surfing, or watch the local dingoes, we’ll take you to Lake McKenzie before it gets busy. You’ll have the chance to hike, swim, and snap some photos of the incredible scenery before we head to a nearby rainforest boardwalk.
While we walk, a knowledgeable guide will point out the giant King Ferns that date back hundreds of years, the World Heritage listed Satinay Rainforest, and the impossibly smooth waters of Wanggoolba Creek. After a picnic-style lunch, we’ll head to Eli Creek via a 4WD to see the Maheno Shipwreck before heading to the nearby Coloured Sands and the Pinnacles. Then it’s back to Noosa and Brisbane, where this two-day magical adventure unfortunately comes to an end.
